REALLY?! wow! that's kinda nuts (IMHO) do you and maureen not drink soda? 'cos i've found empty soda bottles store water quite well!
i guess since i keep fish, i'm slightly lucky if something like that happened, 'cos i've got lots and lots and LOTS of gallon milk jugs full of water. it might taste TERRIBLE 'cos it's "aged" but, i guess that'd be okay. (it's more the dog i'd be worried about, i don't drink much)
okay, last thing. no soy sauce to drink? sad! ;]
